No Video is showing

Postby lashariah on Sun Apr 12, 2009 10:13 pm

I installed MOB on my PC and I tried to play it but its not showing any video just sound and only the mouse. The music is playing and you can see the grey mouse but a black screen?

Can someone tell me would this be a video card issue? Whats the minimum spec for this game?

Thanks :D

I haven't heard of this problem before. It just shows black when you start it up, you don't even see the menu?

It might be a video card problem. You should make sure your video card drivers are up to date. Here is the minimum spec for MoB:

o OS: XP/Vista
o Processor: Core Duo
o Memory: 2 GB RAM
o Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (Radeon X800 Pro for Vista) or better
o DirectX®: Direct X 9
o Hard Drive: 900 MB Free Space
o Sound: DirectX 9.0c Compatible

Another thing you can try is to start up the game and press tilde (~). You should see the console open and you should be able to type into it. Type the following:

con_restricted 0
sys_spec_full 1

This will lower the graphics requirements, which may make it so you can see the graphics.

If this still doesn't work, find the game log in [steam install dir]\steamapps\common\merchants of brooklyn\game.log and post it here. You may have to zip it for the forum to allow you attach it.

Hi Chris,

Are there any other solution to this? My friend is using a GeForce 200 series video card and running on 4GB memory.

He is also using a Windows 7 OS. Is it something to do with the OS compatibility?

Thanks.
